About Us

Floristry has been in our family for generations. Growing up, some of my fondest memories are riding around on grandad’s tractor, tearing around my uncle’s tulip farm and earning pocket money for planting and selling flowers from my mum’s greenhouses. Even now the smell of lavender brings back feelings of nostalgia – those carefree days when mum taught me the art of growing and nurturing botanicals.

Fast-forward 20 years and our small business has evolved massively from a tiny nursery in the heart of Lincolnshire to an online only, nationwide florist. Still very much a family business, we each have different roles contributing to our unique brand and our three specialty departments.

Let’s start with the flowers.

95% of all our flowers are either home grown or sourced fresh from local growers. Once picked, they are instantly hung in one of the drying rooms, or placed in a flower press. Drying flowers usually takes around four weeks until they are placed into arrangements.  Because our flowers are instantly cut and dried, this guarantees a much more vibrant, full bodied, premium finish.

Crafting candles is my favourite part of the day. It’s the part where me and mum try to outdo each other to see who can make the most imaginative design. From hand pouring the wax, to lovingly imprinting the delicate pressed flowers, the whole process is a complete joy.

Finally our gift sets. One of our pet hates are that so many people are only too happy to fill their boxes with tat. Cheap small things just to bulk up a box, not us, you won’t find generic tea bags and high street chocolate here! Our hampers are sourced from local independent companies that have exceptional taste and quality. If you need a personalised message, these are lovingly written on an old typewriter and it wouldn’t be a Swanford and Rose gift set, without a small bunch of flowers, placed inside each and every box.

Everything created, grown and made, is done lovingly by hand, with sustainability at core of everything we do.
